Pre-departure Information
|
|
Before leaving your country, please ensure that
you have done the following:
Immigration matters
- Obtained a valid passport
- Checked with Singapore High Commission in
your country regarding visa requirements for
entry into Singapore.
- A medical report is required by the
Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) for
the Student's Pass application (if your academic
duration is 6 months or more).
- You may choose to either have the medical
examination done in your home country or in
Singapore. The medical report must not be
issued more than three months at the time of
submission of application.
- If you decide to do your check-up
overseas, please ensure that the medical
report is completed in English, written
legibly and the laboratory tests are attached
with the ICA medical report form.
Travel matters
- Completed your travel arrangements, using a
reputable travel agency.
- Checked with the Singapore Customs for
assistance with customs arrival formalities (eg.
currency control and prohibited goods).
- Taken a physical examination and any
immunizations required for travel and residence
in Singapore as stipulated by the World Health
Organization (WHO).
- Get a copy of your medical record from your
physician and a vaccination record from your
doctor.
- If you wear glasses, get a prescription from
your eye doctor.
- If you need regular medication, get an
adequate initial supply and prescription from
your doctor and bring any medical documentation
you have access to.
Financial matters
- Organized financial arrangements so that you
have enough money to cover travel expenses and
living costs on arrival.
- Checked procedures for transferring funds to
a bank in Singapore.

Arrival into Singapore
Changi Airport
|
|
You will be required to complete the
Disembarkation / Embarkation Card which will be
given to you on the plane. The
Disembarkation/Embarkation Card must be completed
in a neat and legible manner.

At the immigration counter, you must present the
completed D/E card together with your passport and
the copy of the In-Principal Approval Letter (IPA)
to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority
officer.
Upon the grant of immigration clearance, the
Disembarkation portion will be retained by the
officer. The Embarkation portion and the IPA Letter
will be returned to you. An endorsement indicating
the period that the visitor is allowed to enter and
stay in Singapore is stamped on both portions of
the D/E Card as well as on the passport.

Airport Pick-up
|
|
Students who request for the Airport Pick Up
Service will be met by the Inmade representative at
the Changi Airport to be taken to the hostel.
Alternatively, taxis are readily available at
Changi Airport. The airport taxi meters in
Singapore start at a basic fare of $2.80 and there
could be some surcharges on top of your fare
including airport surcharge (S$3 weekdays, S$5
weekends) and midnight-6am surcharge (50% of the
metered fare) or peak hour surcharge (Mon to Fri
7.00 am to 9.30am, Mon to Sat 5.00pm to 8.00pm).
There could also be the Electronic Road Pricing
charges incurred during trip and for drop-off
before designated ERP cordoned areas.

INMADE Business School will process the Foreign
Student for admission and payments - including
verifying all original documents
Payment should be paid according to the Schedule of
Payment for the Course
INMADE Business School will hand to the Student the
original Letter from ICA. The Student should keep
this letter safely. Student will proceed to
ICA.

Get a prepaid SIM card to keep in touch with
your parents. Using a prepaid card frees you up
from any monthly bills or subscription contract
with a mobile phone company. The prepaid SIM cards
in Singapore come in various denominations ranging
from S$18 to S$100. There are 3 mobile phone
service providers that offer prepaid phone service
in Singapore - SingTel, MobileOne (M1) and
Starhub.
Prepaid SIM cards in Singapore for any of the three
phone companies can be purchased at the following
locations:
- Retail outlets of SingTel, Starhub and
M1
- 7-eleven stores
- Cheers Convenience Stores
- Singapore Post
- Money Changers (Airport)
You will be required to produce your passport at
the time of buying the prepaid mobile card. Once
registered, the card is ready for use
immediately.
Prepaid SIM Card balance in Singapore is normally
valid for 6 months which means any unused balance
will expire after 6 months.

Hostel Accomodation
|
|
Institute does not have its own hostel. However,
Administration department assists students in
taking up Hostel Accommodation in near-by areas
Little India, Owen Road etc.
Foreign Student will take up direct dealings with
the housing agents and hostels to find suitable
accommodation.

Open a bank account
|
|
Once you have your Student Pass, you can open a
bank account. Any bank should be fine, but check
the minimum maintaining balance and watch out for
bank fees, so you don't get charged
unnecessarily.
To open the account, you need to bring along the
following:
- Original passport
- Student pass
- Minimum initial deposit of S$500 is
required

Library resource
|
|
Books and CD Rom titles are available to
students during college hours at the library
centre. Over 300 books and 26 rich multimedia CD
Rom titles are available to students for
reference.
Some of the rare titles in the library have been
specially imported from countries like UK &
India for student reference.
In addition to the library resource available at
the institute, our students can also access the
public library facility offered by Singapore
National Library (Lee Kong Chian Reference Library)
which is approximately 500 mts. from Inmade
Business School and is situated on Victoria
Street

Academic assistance
to students
|
|
The Academic department within the context of
Student Support Services will render academic
support to students needing assistance in coping
with their studies and meeting the required
academic standing.
Students who need additional help on an assignment
or topic covered earlier is free to consult the
module lecturer after the lesson ends or
alternatively fix an appointment for consultation
on another day agreed by both parties. In the event
where help or advice is needed, by a group of
students, before examination, the module lecturer
may provide extra coaching and examination briefing
in a classroom context.
In addition to face-to-face communication, students
may also email their lecturers (email address is
given to all students) with queries on any subject
matter relating to the module.

Grievance Management
As a part of pastoral counseling, INMADE
Business School has set up a policy of resolving
the grievances of all its employees/students. The
employee/student grievances are collected and
passed to the concerned department head, who in
turn takes corrective actions to resolve/minimize
the grievance. This helps in emotional counseling
of the employees and the students.
Yoga and Psycho-Therapy
INMADE periodically organizes yoga sessions and
psycho-therapy sessions with professional
counselors to relieve the students and the
employees of the emotional stress that they are
facing.
Periodic Workshops
INMADE periodically conducts workshops on
stress management, time management etc to help the
students and employees to reduce their stress
levels.
